Software Quality Assurance Engineer Summary:
VIAVI Solutions is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing team of professionals in the Wichita, KS office. As part of this role you will be responsible for planning and executing software test plans and testing activities within project timelines. This position requires working closely with other functional teams such as Product Management, Development, Technical Support, etc. and involves communicating status updates to management regularly.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops automation scripts using python or any equivalent programming language
- Performs integration testing on product features and enhancements by developing automation tests using python or any equivalent programming language
- Executes system level functional tests and performance tests on pre-release products
- Reports issues found during testing; assists in resolving technical issues encountered during testing
- Creates test cases based on requirements and specifications
- Develops test strategies and schedules
- Tests software releases for conformance to specified requirements and industry standards
- Works with development engineers to ensure proper implementation of changes and improvements
- Interacts with internal customers to understand their needs and expectations
Communicates status updates to management regularly
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in Automation Testing
- Knowledge of Python, Pytest, pybot, selenium or similar tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Self-motivated individual who has strong organizational skills
- Flexible, resourceful and able to adapt quickly to change
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Network Protocol Analyzer products
- Knowledge of Scripting languages (Python, Shell script)
- Knowledge of Jenkins
- Knowledge of GIT
- Knowledge of JIRA
- Knowledge of Cucumber framework
