We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance and Testing Engineering Leader to join the GridBeats™ team. The GridBeats™ Software Portfolio is aggregating all Grid Automation applications which monitor, optimize and manage grid connected devices. It is very complex and exciting portfolio which is setting the basis for grid connected devices management for the future.
The Software Quality Assurance and Testing Engineering Leader will head the QA & Testing team across GridBeats™ setting the roadmap for quality assurance and testing, and ensuring that we implement a world-class Software Quality Assurance best practices.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the overall Quality Assurance and Testing strategy across the GridBeats™ software portfolio, covering embedded software, backend/server applications, and system integrations.
- Establish and continuously improve software quality processes, testing methodologies, and best practices across development teams.
- Define testing strategies across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements validation, unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and release testing.
- Define guidelines and best practices for test case design, test coverage, traceability, and test documentation across teams.
- Drive test automation strategy and ensure automated testing is integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Define release quality criteria, quality gates, and testing requirements for software releases.
- Establish and track software quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, automation coverage, release stability, and field defect rates.
- Familiar with the use of code generation tool for quality assurance and testing automation purposes.
- Define and improve defect management processes, root cause analysis processes, and continuous improvement loops.
- Define strategies for system testing environments, simulation environments, and hardware-in-the-loop testing where required.
- Work with Software Architecture and Development teams to ensure systems are designed for testability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, cybersecurity requirements, and software development processes.
- Lead the QA & Testing community across teams, providing guidance, training, and coaching on quality engineering and testing best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of software quality, testing efficiency, and release reliability across the organization.
- Own software release quality and software quality metrics across the GridBeats™ portfolio.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
- Proven and strong experience in software development, quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering, with experience in a leadership or coordination role.
- Experience defining and implementing software quality processes, testing strategies, and testing methodologies across multiple teams or products.
- Strong understanding of software testing approaches including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and automated testing.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with CI/CD and DevOps environments (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience testing distributed systems, backend/server software, APIs, and embedded software systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, industrial software, or safety-critical software environments is a plus.
- ISTQB or comparable software testing certification is an advantage.
