In this position... 

The Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) Concern Identification and Resolution (CIDR) Software Product Concern Engineer acts as a Subject Matter Expert and Single Point of the Contact for the greater CIDR team for matters pertaining to the software release process and software resolutions. They aid in triaging concerns and validating repair solutions, while ensuring that software timelines are met to deliver software fixes to dealers. 

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Support the Quicker Service Fix (QSF) process for assigned software functional groups
  • Aid in triaging concerns and validating proposed software solution
  • Interface with Engineering activities to support global Concern Identification and Resolution efforts
  • Represent FCSD CIDR in various engineering Functional Review Meetings to drive for concern resolution
  • Support FCSD Program Manager and vehicle line PCE with timely and accurate status updates for the Concern Management Database
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the CIDR team related to the software release process and deliverables
  • Leverage JIRA and various quality forums to accelerate software development and delivery of elemental steps
  • Author Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), Special Service Messages (SSMs) and Internal Service Messages (ISMs) and ensure global publication to applicable markets as needed
  • Review/monitor TSB/SSM/ISM articles generated by other activities
  • Support and engage in bi-weekly TSB/SSM/ISM review process to ensure consistency of publications
  • Support Escalated Handling Team requests and work with Engineering SMEs as required
  • Work with FCSD Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) to support quality and launch initiatives
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of automotive service 

Even better, you may have...

  • Dealer employment experience desired (fixed operations)
  • FCSD field experience desired
  • Program Management experience desired
  • Experience with GCQIS, MMP, WERS, GCCT, GSAR and PTS is helpful
  • Strong verbal communication, technical writing and presentation skills are a must
  • Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Must be able to thrive within a small support team environment and using outside support teams
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to vehicle service requests for support
  • Software release process experience highly beneficial

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. 

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
