Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) is looking for am experienced Software Integration Systems Engineer to join their team in Richardson, TX. This position will serve as an individual contributor for the P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Training Systems Integration and Test team.
The Integration and Test team provides software integration for the P-8A AAS Training Systems which consists of a weapons trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning station. This position will support the software team in the integration of the AAS software baselines. The position requires collaboration with the software owners to ensure proper device operation after the software components are integrated.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This position requires a lot of collaboration with other teams and the customer, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will support the training devices in Dallas as well as retrofitting the training devices at customer sites.
Position Responsibilities:
- Integration of locally developed software with the training devices.
- Integration and troubleshooting of software from outside entities, requiring external support for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems to find root cause and collaborate with the functional teams to find resolutions.
- Develop and maintain scripts used to install, integrate, and configure software products.
- Develop and maintain lab documentation (operating procedures, power procedures, troubleshooting instructions)
- Perform data processing of flight data to extract data products for use in the electronic classroom.
- Verify device functionality after software integration and cyber updates.
- Support device checkouts and formal testing both locally and at customer sites.
- Document system defects, participate in the Defect Review Board with leadership and the customer to establish the priority of resolving the defects.
- Coordinate systems engineering reviews to support hardware and software modifications
- Participate in scrum meetings and use Agile tools for task tracking.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Richardson, TX.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
- 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience
- 2+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems.
- 3+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving strategies involving software integration and testing.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically for remote installations.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years of administrator experience with Windows and/or Windows Server operating systems
- 2+ years of experience with IBM DOORS
- 2+ years of experience with GitLab
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with the P-8A training devices - Weapon Tactics Trainer, Scenario Generation Station, Electronic Classroom, Brief/Debrief Station.
- Experience with scripting languages such as: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
- Experience working with Agile tools (Jira).
- Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
