Software Integration and Test Engineer / Principal Software Integration and Test Engineer
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking an Integration and Test Engineer/ Principal Integration and Test Engineer based out of Manhattan Beach, CA. Our Team develops and supports state-of-the-art Mission Planning systems.
Responsibilities:
Author Software Test Plans, Procedures, Subsystem Acceptance Test Procedures, and Test Reports.
Execute test artifacts for developmental, integration, qualification, and acceptance testing
Develop automated test approaches for new software capabilities
Compile test data, identify gaps, and recommend procedural changes
Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and support organic/COTS SW/HW integration in the labs
Working with SW development teams to document and resolve SW issues.
Provide on‑site support for fielded products
May require travel up to two weeks at a time for planning meetings, testing events, and customer support
All work must be performed on-site in Manhattan Beach, CA
Basic Qualifications:
US Citizenship and Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years or under continuous evaluation)
For Integration and Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 2+ years of experience or Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience
For Principal Integration and Test Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of experience or Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience
Experience defining test objectives based on test requirements.
Extensive experience with automated testing tools (e.g., TestComplete) and scripting languages.
Strong background in SW/HW integration/troubleshooting/test principles, COTS software incorporation, and field support.
Proven track record of developing test automation and data collection methods within CI/CD pipelines.
Advanced hands‑on system troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
Ability to lead technical interfaces with suppliers and customer
Preferred (nice to have) Qualifications:
Experience working with requirements development
Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies.
Strong interpersonal and analytic skills
Experience with current military Mission Planning Systems such as Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), AFMSS and/or PFPS
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or Special Access Programs clearance
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.
