We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Architect Infotainment to join our team. With our deep domain expertise, Aptiv is developing solutions that solve our customers' toughest challenges. We are enabling the transition to software-defined vehicles supported by electrified and intelligently connected architectures – which will combine to power the future of mobility. This role sits within Aptiv’s new product organization, which will be at the forefront of transforming the auto industry with cutting-edge technology.

We’re seeking highly motivated Software Architects to lead the development of safety critical architectures of Integrated Cockpit platforms within a global development team. Scope of work ranges from definition of low level platform SW and BSPs jointly with our OS suppliers via up-integration of Cockpit SW platforms as Interior Sensing, Audio or Real Time Vision, towards deployment of the Integrated Cockpit platform into APTIV’s Software Defined reference vehicle or OEM’s product vehicle architectures.

Your Role

  • Lead software architecture planning, design, and implementation, including developing SW requirements, architecture, and verification plans.
  • Conduct and drive code reviews, advise project/program management, and mentor team members.
  • Analyze customer, system, and safety requirements to derive software architecture specifications.
  • Design, document, and implement reusable software architecture with requirements traceability using tools like Polarion and Enterprise Architect.
  • Interface directly with automotive OEMs and suppliers to review and influence design aspects.
  • Develop documentation for compliance with automotive SPICE and improve software performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Strategy teams to align software products with required features and modifications.
  • Support product strategy, roadmap development, and quote activities, including Proof of Concept initiatives.

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

  • #EXP[10-18]
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in product software development, including design and programming (C/C++) in an agile environment.
  • Software Architecture: Proficient in defining and implementing software architectures for product development.
  • Embedded Systems: Expertise in developing scalable, multi-threaded software for embedded systems and experience with embedded microcontrollers and common peripherals.
  • Tools & Standards: Familiar with software development processes (CI/CD, Automotive SPICE), tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT), and UML architectural design tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect).
  • Operating Systems: Experience with Operating Systems/RTOS (Linux, QNX, VxWorks) for automotive systems.
  • Safety & Standards: Understanding of functional safety concepts (ISO26262), MISRA standards, and familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
  • Microservices & Cloud: Knowledge of microservice architectures, containers, and cloud computing (preferred).
  • Teamwork: Experience with geographically distributed teams, strong analytical, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
