About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of Carplay module—ranging from prototyping and writing functional code to testing , implementation, certification activities and defect fixing. This role will leverage your knowledge of programming languages . You will collaborate with the team to support various stages of the software development life cycle. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager.
What You Will Do
- Triaging and fixing Carplay defects.
- Contributing to Carplay certification activities.
- Involving in carplay spec migrations.
- Continuously partner with colleagues in automotive division to ensure that the planned objectives are met
- Participate for the code review and planning activities
- Actively provide support for the software delivery process
What You Need to Be Successful
- Own end-to-end CarPlay lifecycle management, including connection, projection, teardown, suspend/resume, and recovery scenarios.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and system-level Android development.
- Design and implement Android system services and middleware using Java.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in Binder / AIDL IPC, service lifecycle management, and state machine implementation for projection control.
- Work across Android framework, native, and HAL layers to integrate CarPlay projection services.
- Perform deep system-level debugging, including crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, performance , and boot-time issues.
- Utilize advanced debugging and profiling tools such as ADB, logcat, gdb, perfetto, and Android Studio Profiler.
- Apply knowledge of JNI, native debugging, and HAL integration to resolve cross-layer issues.
- Ensure compliance with Apple CarPlay specifications, MFi requirements, and certification guidelines.
- Support and drive Apple CarPlay certification activities, addressing validation failures and Apple-reported issues.
- Stay up to date with the latest CarPlay specifications, iOS compatibility changes, and automotive projection standards.
