Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of technology solutions supporting Treasury Technology. This leader will be responsible for building and developing high-performing engineering teams that deliver scalable platforms, data-driven capabilities, and modern technology solutions supporting liquidity management, funding, cash management, regulatory reporting, balance sheet optimization, and risk management.
The role will partner closely with Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to drive platform modernization, cloud adoption, and the responsible use of AI and emerging technologies while ensuring operational resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers responsible for delivering Treasury Technology solutions using modern engineering practices.
- Lead the design and delivery of technology capabilities supporting liquidity management, cash forecasting, funding and capital management, regulatory reporting, interest rate risk management, and intraday liquidity management.
- Partner with architects and engineering leaders to align solutions with enterprise architecture, cloud strategies, application modernization initiatives, data strategies, security requirements, and non-functional standards.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic workflows, machine learning, and MLOps capabilities to enhance Treasury platforms and business processes.
- Drive engineering excellence through agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, automated testing, secure software development, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Treasury stakeholders, Product Managers, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Data Management, and Cybersecurity teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Manage multiple technology initiatives, roadmaps, resource allocation, vendor relationships, and financial resources while ensuring delivery commitments are met.
- Hire, develop, and retain engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and responsible technology adoption.
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, including experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-scale applications, platforms, or technology solutions.
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience leading software engineering teams.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms, modern application architecture, and software delivery practices including APIs, microservices, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Experience supporting Treasury technology solutions or Treasury business functions, including liquidity management, cash forecasting, funding and capital management, regulatory reporting, or interest rate risk management
- Experience within a large financial services organization.
- Experience implementing AI/ML platforms, MLOps capabilities, or advanced analytics solutions.
- Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, AI agents, or orchestration frameworks.
- Experience building data-intensive applications using Python, Java, .NET, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of AI governance, model risk management, explainability, monitoring, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience modernizing technology platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Must be able to work onsite in Charlotte, NC in compliance with hybrid company policy
