Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead the Data Strategy, DataOps, and engineering delivery supporting our Vulnerability Management, Application Security, and Cloud Security cyber domains. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling modern cyber data platforms, enabling high-quality, trusted security insights, and operationalizing data through robust DataOps practices.
The role partners closely with Cyber domain leaders, Product teams, Architecture, and Enterprise Data & Analytics stakeholders to define and execute the vision for cyber data, analytics enablement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines deep data engineering expertise, strong people leadership, and the ability to translate cybersecurity needs into scalable, data-driven solutions.
In this role, you will:
Data & Engineering Leadership
- Lead and develop global teams of software and data engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating cyber data platforms and pipelines
- Define and drive the Cyber Data Strategy across Vulnerability Management, Application Security, and Cloud Security domains
- Establish and scale DataOps practices, including CI/CD for data pipelines, data quality automation, observability, and operational monitoring
- Ensure engineering solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resiliency, scalability, and data governance
- Partner with enterprise architects and senior engineers to design modern data architectures, including cloud-native and platform-based solutions
- Enable ingestion, normalization, correlation, and enrichment of cyber data from diverse sources (scanning tools, cloud platforms, application security tools, third-party feeds)
- Guide platform decisions, including build vs. buy, tooling selection, and strategic vendor integrations
- Drive alignment with enterprise data strategy, metadata management, and data governance frameworks
- Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for cyber data solutions, from design through production and ongoing operations
- Act as an escalation point for delivery risks, data reliability issues, and cross-team dependencies
- Ensure adherence to Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and enterprise risk management expectations
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning using agile and DevOps/DataOps practices
- Partner with Cyber Product Managers and domain leaders to define data requirements, analytics use cases, and roadmap priorities
- Translate cybersecurity and risk management needs into actionable data and engineering deliverables
- Communicate data strategy, platform capabilities, and delivery progress to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with Enterprise Data, Platform, and Analytics teams to maximize reuse and consistency
- Hire, coach, and develop high-performing engineering talent with skills across data engineering, platform engineering, and cloud technologies
- Manage performance, career development, and succession planning for engineers and engineering managers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources aligned to strategic priorities and delivery commitments
- Foster an inclusive, accountable, and innovation-driven engineering culture
- 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- Strong hands-on experience in data engineering, including batch and streaming pipelines
- Experience building and operating DataOps capabilities (pipeline automation, observability, data quality, CI/CD for data)
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud-native data services
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, risk, or compliance data domains
- Familiarity with enterprise observability and analytics platforms (e.g., Elastic Stack or similar)
- Strong grasp of Agile, DevOps, and modern engineering metrics
- Product-oriented mindset with experience delivering scalable, customer-centric data platforms
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data, or related field
- Relevant certifications in cloud, data, or security are a plus
