Wells Fargo is seeking a visionary and technically strong Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing application development team focused on AI innovation in branch banking. This role will be instrumental in designing and delivering cutting-edge AI solutions that enhance customer experience, streamline authentication processes, and empower branch employees with intelligent tools. You will own the development lifecycle of AI-powered applications, champion innovation, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring transformative ideas to life.
In this role, you will:
Provide Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers focused on AI and application development
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Define and drive the AI innovation roadmap for branch banking.
- Oversee development of customer-facing AI capabilities (e.g., virtual assistants, smart kiosks)
- Lead initiatives like enhanced customer and employee authentication using AI (e.g., biometrics, behavioral analytics), enhanced customer service through chatbots and personalized app interfaces, improved fraud detection and risk management and customized financial advice using predictive analytics
- Own the full lifecycle of AI-enabled applications-from concept to deployment and support
- Ensure scalability, security, and performance of all developed solutions
- Bring speed, intelligence, and seamless connectivity to every interaction
- Partner with product managers, data scientists, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders
- Translate business needs into technical solutions that deliver measurable impact
- Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and trends in banking.
- Advocate for best practices in software engineering, AI ethics, and responsible innovation
- Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
- 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 6+ years of financial services experience
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- 3+ years leading application development teams preferably as an Engineering Manager or Lead Software Engineer
- 3+ years of experience mentoring and quality checking junior application developers
- 3+ years cloud experience
- 1+ years of experience leading AI-centric projects or programs at a financial services institution
- 2+ years banking operations technology experience, preferably branch operations
- 3+ years of technology transformation / modernization leadership experience
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule - ability to work in office
