Software Engineering Senior Analyst – AS400 (Developer) 
 

Position Overview 

We are seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in AS400 technologies to architect, develop, and modernize enterprise-scale applications. This role blends hands-on development with technical leadership, guiding Agile teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions within a healthcare environment. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain AS400 applications using CBLLE, COBOL/400, RPGLE, CLLE and DB2/400. 

  • Participate in technical discussions, and uphold best practices for coding standards and quality. 

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, influencing backlog prioritization and sprint planning. 

  • Deployment strategy and version control mechanism 

  • Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance requirements and security best practices 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make architecture decisions and optimize system performance. 

  • Stay ahead of emerging cloud-native technologies, tools, and industry best practices. 

 

 

 

Qualifications 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Expertise in CBLLE, COBOL/400, RPGLE, CLLE 

  • Experience with DB2/400, SQLCBLLE, SQLRPGLE, Triggers and Procedures. 

  • Knowledge of Job scheduling, Message queues, work management. 

  • Proven experience in Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum or SAFe).  

  • Exceptional problem-solving, leadership and communication skills. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience with Unit Testing, Integration and any automation tools 

  • Deployment strategy and version control 

  • Familiarity with healthcare domain standards and regulatory compliance. 

 

Required Experience & Education: 

  • 35 years of relevant AS400 experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.  

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical or business discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
