Salesforce Inc. seeks Software Engineering MTS/AI Research in Palo Alto, CA:

Job Duties: Help create high-visibility data products and decision-making tools for Salesforce’s leaders. Lead the charge on taking core products to the next level in terms of engineering maturity and architecture. Refine and develop new data science products, workflows, tools, and automation. Build tools to monitor data pipeline performance, data quality and models in production. Establish best practices with coding standards, workflows, tools, and product automation. Review and maintain existing tool-set and codebase (pipelines, models, algorithms); continue to improve existing tools and build new ones. Scale the operations of the data science team by building automation and libraries. Work closely with AI researchers and applied scientists to deliver new AI for research and products. Focus on engineering components of AI such as model training/evaluation pipelines, leveraging GPUs, and optimizing pipelines. Solve challenging AI engineering problems, focusing primarily on training, evaluating, and optimizing large language models (LLMs). Telecommuting is an option. 

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and six (6) months of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Machine learning; (2) optimizing inference of LLM by allowing multi-gpu inference; (3) building ML training and inference pipeline; (4) Data structures; and (5) scaling software systems.

Skills may be gained through academic coursework or employment experience. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. 

Salary: $170,227.00 - $188,600.00 per annum.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $170,277 to $188,600.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
