Software Engineering Team Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineering Team Manager to lead our small engineering team in Poland. You’ll play a key role in shaping the team’s delivery, culture, and technical direction, reporting directly to the Head of Product Development.

This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration — working closely with Product Management and Customer Delivery colleagues outside of Poland to bring complex, data-driven products to life.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and mentoring — creating an environment where people learn, grow, and perform at their best.

• Oversee performance management, training, and recruitment for your team.
• Guide technical delivery: ensure quality, remove blockers, and help the team make sound engineering decisions.
• Implement and continuously improve product development processes that support scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product Management to shape roadmaps, refine requirements, and translate business goals into engineering outcomes.
• Work with Customer Delivery to resolve project gaps and customer issues quickly and effectively.
• Participate in architecture discussions and committees, contributing to design and specification reviews.
• Partner with subject matter experts to ensure robust, high-quality system design and implementation.

What You Bring

• Proven experience leading Java-based engineering teams, with enough technical depth to review designs, challenge decisions, and support engineers — even if you’re no longer coding day to day.
• Proven experience in software development, including hands-on or architectural experience with Java and related technologies.
• Background as a developer or technical lead.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams working on large-scale or real-time data processing systems — i.e., products handling significant data volumes, distributed computation, or complex data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Agile development, CI/CD, DevOps, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, positive, and culturally aware leadership style.
• Fluency in English and Polish.
