Job title:
Software Engineering Manager

What you’ll do

  • Lead & grow teams: Hire, coach, and develop high-performing, inclusive teams across geographies; establish clear roles, objectives, and growth paths; build succession plans.
  • Own delivery & portfolios: Run an outcomes-driven portfolio with transparent OKRs, prioritization, and release plans; ensure on-time, high-quality delivery and smooth transitions to operations.
  • Stakeholder management: Engage senior business leaders, product owners, and functional partners to translate needs into scalable solutions and to drive adoption and change.
  • Operational excellence: Ensure production reliability (data availability, quality SLAs), incident response, and continuous improvement across 24x7 operations.
  • Governance & compliance: Champion data governance, quality, cataloguing, and access controls; partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Culture & ways of working: Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and learning; mature Agile practices, DataOps/MLOps, and automation; increase data literacy across stakeholders.
  • Enable analytics & BI: Ensure that analytics teams (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau) have trusted, well-modeled data and that business users can self-serve responsibly.

Technology environment: Azure data services, Databricks, Snowflake/Synapse, and adjacent cloud services. Depth is supported by your senior ICs; you provide architectural guidance and standards rather than day-to-day hands-on build.

What you’ll bring (Must-have)

  • Leadership tenure: 15+ years in data/analytics with 5+ years leading managers and multi-disciplinary teams delivering enterprise data platforms and analytics.
  • Enterprise delivery: Proven track record shaping strategy, roadmaps, and OKRs; leading complex programs from discovery to run, ideally in supply chain or adjacent operations.
  • Cloud data platforms: Experience leading teams working on Azure data services and Databricks (or equivalents); able to evaluate architectures, set standards, and make trade-offs.
  • AI/ML program exposure: Managed delivery of analytics/ML and at least some GenAI initiatives, with focus on governance, risk, and value realization.
  • Stakeholder & change leadership: Executive presence, excellent communication, and the ability to drive alignment and adoption across business and IT.
  • Governance & security: Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, cataloguing, access controls, and compliance in regulated, global environments.
  • Operational mindset: Experience running reliable, monitored, and supportable platforms with 24x7 expectations.

Nice-to-have

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative or technical field.
  • Azure Architect/Data certifications (current equivalents welcome).
  • Experience in healthcare and/or supply chain data domains.
  • Familiarity with GenAI toolchains and agent-based patterns (at program/architecture level).

Capabilities & competencies

  • Talent magnet: attract, develop, and retain diverse talent; give clear feedback and recognition.
  • Outcomes over output: simplify, sequence, and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Translational fluency: turn complex technical concepts into clear business value stories.
  • Governance champion: scale standards, patterns, and reusable components across teams.
  • Pragmatic innovator: introduce cloud and AI capabilities safely, ethically, and iteratively.

Academic & professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant discipline from a reputable institution.
  • Relevant cloud/data certifications preferred.

Work environment & expectations

  • Global, cross-functional collaboration with teams and stakeholders across regions and time zones.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in supply chain analytics.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
Indicate if this role is an office/field/onsite role.
