Job Description:
We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in Dallas, TX. This role calls for a highly competent and experienced individual. In addition to an understanding of finance and real assets, the ideal candidate should possess a robust technical background.
Responsibilities:
- This role is the bridge between the continents. You will lead and manage the remote engineering team, ensuring all projects align with company objectives and core values.
- Oversee rigorous code reviews to enforce best coding practices, ensuring the highest quality and maintainability.
- Implement and optimize Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks for efficient project management and timely deliveries.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, asset management, and investment professionals, to develop and implement software solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
- Evaluate team performance metrics and develop action plans for productivity improvements.
Software Engineering Manager Qualifications and Skills:
- Comprehensive Background: 12+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in leading software engineer teams. Background in Continuously Oil & Gas, Finance and Investment Management or Fintech highly desirable.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Team Player: Fosters a collaborative environment, is empathetic, and makes team members feel valued.
- High Initiative: Proactively identifies issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Entrepreneurial Drive: Passionate about building something meaningful and is willing to take calculated risks.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to balance short-term goals with long-term objectives, understanding how day-to-day operations fit into the broader company mission.
- Detail-Oriented: Has a keen eye for details in coding, project management, and communication, which is critical for interpreting complex financial data and asset structures.
- A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, although significant relevant experience can also be considered.
