Get to know the team
Come join Grab's FIRST-AID TechOps Development Team - we are on an exciting mission to empower all Grabbers to be the best version of themselves by growing a culture of learning and feedback. We are looking for a Software Engineer Manager to take part of the FIRST-AID TechOps Development Team. You will be responsible for building, growing and leading a team of engineers focused on delivering high quality deliverables, spanning across multiple important internal services powering Grab's internal operational processes.
Get to know the role
As a Software Engineering Manager with our Techops Development team, you'll be in the vanguard of innovation, ensuring our internal systems. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager. You'll cover the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment, with a focus on high-quality code and performance.
This role is based in Petaling Jaya and hybrid.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will lead a team of engineers across different tech stacks. We are looking for a hands-on approach where you will still contribute to the codebase with your team.
- You'll work with leaders to shape the product roadmap, set customer metrics, and plan experiments.
- You will initiate company-wide engineering projects with senior leaders.
- You will set the engineering strategy and engineering main result targets for the team, improve across testability, availability, security and code quality for your systems and modules
- You will grow senior engineering talent across Grab.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- We're looking for someone who has dedicated at least 5+ years to engineering experience on web and backend technologies. During this time, you have been able to develop several large-scale applications.
- You have experience as a successful software engineer manager or tech lead. Additionally, you are well-versed in attracting and retaining key talent. Experience mentoring engineers is critical for this role.
- You are a cultural role model with a sense of and empathy, to help the team achieve engineering excellence.
