If you possess interests across these domains, we aim to nurture and enhance them while offering new opportunities and a chance to learn from you as well.

What you’d be doing:

  • Manage engineering resources to ensure timely delivery of software features.
  • Monitor and review code quality, testing, and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Create technical documentation for engineering projects (e.g., React Component designs, API design).
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Research and assess new technologies and trends to determine the best solution for the business.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead, with the ability to build a team, develop people, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience as a software engineer working in a collaborative environment.
  • Empathetic leadership and the ability to encourage a culture of safety, trust, and transparency.
  • The verbal skills to spark debate, solicit input, and share those ideas in verbal and written forms.
  • Experience developing a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Working knowledge of modern development practices.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with scalability, security, and performance best practices.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Experience leading consumer-facing product engineering teams that contain a mix of front-end and back-end engineers.
  • Recent experience leading engineering design sessions for Frontend software.
  • Knowledge of our core backend technologies such as Java, GraphQL, or Go.
  • Experience in software engineering in the insurance industry.
