Software Engineering Manager - (AI Platforms)

The Opportunity

As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll be a manager of an engineering team building Fuel iX (www.fuelix.ai), a WillowTree AI platform that helps enterprises manage and accelerate AI-fueled intelligent experiences (iX). This role is pivotal in enhancing and evolving our industry-leading AI engine, ensuring it delivers flexibility, control, productivity, and trust to enterprises worldwide.

Location and Flexibility

This is a hybrid role. This model requires the ability to work in a hybrid mode from one of our offices in São Paulo (2 times/ week or 8 days/ month) or Porto Alegre (3 times/ week or 12 days/ month). Our office culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members local and visiting from other global offices.

Qualifications

• You are driven by curiosity and enthusiastic about learning new technologies
• Believe in autonomy and taking initiative
• Have professional engineering experience  — we’re thinking at least 5 years building digital products, and at least 2 years leading a team
• Have managed a team of software engineers building digital products, and been responsible for growing the people on the team through goal-setting, coaching and feedback
• Are comfortable having difficult conversations and always have your clients’ and teammates’ best interests in mind
• Have familiarity with CI/CD, Agile techniques for managing work, pairing, mobbing, and shift-left testing
• Have owned the delivery of a complete digital product, with code that is durable, secure, scalable and thoroughly tested
• Can simplify and communicate about complex problems around technology, business processes, user experience and development tasks
• Have worked on AI product development or have knowledge on AI development best practices.
