Salesforce Inc. seeks Software Engineering LMTS in San Francisco, CA:

Job Duties: Work within the Ingress Gateway team and build highly scalable and distributed load balancing and gateway services to front customer traffic coming into Salesforce and internal traffic supporting engineering teams. Provide simple declarative interfaces for L4/L7 load balancing, TLS termination, and end-to-end encryption. Lead the technical work for the team. Write design specifications and test plans for the team. Exhibit ownership for all aspects of features from requirements analysis, design, coding to testing and production support. Lead root cause analysis of production incidents for load balancing and gateway services. Ensure telemetry is implemented, including edge cases. Leverage telemetry in a controlled deployment of new functionality, effectively managing pre-release, canary, and stagger periods. Develop Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives and participate in their effective implementation. Provide technical coaching to junior team members to help improve their overall skills and knowledge, primarily by using techniques such as pair-programming and reviews. Assist with hiring and conduct interviews for new candidates. ˆHQ address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in San Francisco: 350 Mission Street, 415 Mission Street, and 50 Fremont Street. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in San Francisco. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Networking, Engineering (any field), or closely related quantitative discipline, and six (6) months of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Information Networking, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Distributed Systems or Scalable, Fault-Tolerant Distributed Systems, (2) IPv6, (3) Software-Defined Networking (SDN), (4) Software Load Balancing, (5) NGINX, (6) mesh, (7) proxy caching, (8) resource naming, (9) TCP/IP, (10) TLS termination. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required. Special Skills can be gained through academic coursework, scholastic achievement, or professional experience.

Salary: $176,800.00 - $265,200.00 per annum.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $176,800 to $265,200.
