Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Python, SQL, and modern software engineering practices
- Lead the development and enhancement of digital claims processing solutions, application modernization initiatives, and AI-enabled automation capabilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure services and modern architecture patterns
- Apply AI, Generative AI, and LLM-based technologies to improve operational efficiency, automate business processes, and enhance user experience
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical design sessions, and solution planning activities to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, data integrations, and backend services supporting claims and healthcare business processes
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, quality, and performance standards throughout the software development lifecycle
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production deployments, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ongoing application support activities
- Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise application development
- Solid hands-on experience with Python and Spring Boot application development
- Solid programming experience with Python for application development, automation, or AI-enabled solutions
- Advanced SQL and relational database experience, including data modeling, performance tuning, and complex query development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or integrating AI, Generative AI, LLM, RAG, Agentic AI, or intelligent automation solutions
- Experience with React or modern web application frameworks
- Healthcare or health insurance industry experience, particularly within Claims processing, EOB, Member servicing, or Facets-related systems
- Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application development
- Experience with source control systems such as Git
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of Prompt Engineering, AI evaluation frameworks, and AI-assisted software development practices
- Familiarity with application modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technology teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
