- Integrate AI/ML models, machine learning APIs, and generative AI features into full-stack Java and React applications to power automated workflows
- Use enterprise-approved AI tools and ML platforms to streamline software development workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement
- Evaluate emerging trends in AI/ML engineering and modern React front-end frameworks to inform architecture design and strategic innovation
- Write, optimize, and maintain high-performance database queries, stored procedures, and triggers using PL/SQL to support AI/ML data models and web applications
- Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices using Java to seamlessly connect React front-ends with AI/ML services and relational database layers
- Conduct code reviews, implement unit/integration testing, and enforce software engineering and AI/ML safety and quality standards
- Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience using Java and enterprise frameworks (e.g., Spring / Spring Boot)
- 4+ years of experience working with relational databases and writing complex PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and database optimizations
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices to support React web applications and AI/ML integrations
- 3+ years of experience working within an Agile/Scrum development team
- 3+ years of experience integrating AI/ML models, machine learning APIs, or intelligent automation services into software applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, model deployment platforms, Large Language Models (LLMs), or MLOps practices
- Experience with advanced React state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API) and modern web build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. We believe everyone-of every race, gender, sexuality, age, location and income-deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life. Today, however, there are still far too many barriers to good health which are disproportionately experienced by people of color, historically marginalized groups and those with lower incomes. We are committed to mitigating our impact on the environment and enabling and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and improves health outcomes - an enterprise priority reflected in our mission.
