The Role

Software Engineering Intern

Launched in 2018, SponsorUnited is the leading global sports and entertainment SaaS platform, delivering actionable data and insights to build stronger marketing partnerships.

Position Overview
SponsorUnited’s Software Engineering Internship is a hands-on experience designed to provide real-world exposure to building and improving a data-driven SaaS platform within the sports and entertainment ecosystem.

Interns will work alongside engineering and product teams to contribute to feature development, internal tools, and data systems that power the SponsorUnited platform, gaining practical experience through mentorship, collaboration, and real development workflows.

This is not a traditional software engineering internship. We are specifically seeking candidates who actively use modern AI-assisted development tools and are comfortable building with large language models (LLMs), agent-based workflows, and automation frameworks.

Program Details
Duration: June - August
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week
Compensation: Paid position

Responsibilities
● Contribute to ongoing product and engineering initiatives by supporting feature development and platform enhancements
● Assist in designing and refining product features, internal tools, and scalable data workflows
● Write, test, and debug code with guidance from engineering team members
● Participate in standups, sprint planning, and code reviews to support high-quality delivery
● Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and engineering teams to enhance user experience and improve data usability
● Assist in troubleshooting and resolving bugs and performance issues
● Leverage AI development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding and problem-solving
● Contribute to AI-enabled features, workflows, or internal tools using LLMs and automation frameworks
● Contribute to a defined project or key initiative throughout the internship
● Present key learnings, outcomes, and contributions at the conclusion of the internship

Qualifications
● Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
● Demonstrated experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar)
● Hands-on experience using AI development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in your workflow
● Familiarity with LLM concepts, prompt engineering, or building AI-assisted applications (projects, coursework, or personal work)
● Basic understanding of APIs, databases (SQL or similar), and version control (Git)
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
● Ability to showcase relevant side projects or a GitHub portfolio (AI-related work strongly preferred)
● Strong communication skills
