This summer we are opening our doors and looking to welcome a Software Engineering intern to partner with our Synthegoats on our Software Engineering team. This role is for someone currently pursuing a college degree in software engineering or related field, with an interest in the software development lifecycle and trying to gain some on-the-job experience in biotech.
This opportunity is a 10-week paid internship.
6/3-8/8 - For Semester Interns
6/16-8/22 - For Quarter Interns
What You'll Do:
- Work with the Software Team and Operations to understand instrument configuration and operations
- Design, build and deploy a new feature for instrument configuration that will be used for all lab instrumentation
- Learn the software development lifecycle from conception and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment
- Engage daily with various teams and stakeholders to create a successful and maintainable solution
- Dive into full-stack application development and understand the complete software picture
About You:
- An avid learner and willing to take on an unfamiliar project
- Have great communication skills and enjoy collaborating with others
- Comfortable programming in Python, and have familiarity with React, Django, and SQL databases
- Familiar with version control such as Git
- Understand the importance of documentation and testing
- Able to debug issues in your code when they arise
- Have pair programmed with others in order to complete tasks
- Know when to ask for help if your progress is affected
