Big data engineer responsible for resolving complex technical issues. Ensure that quality is maintained by following development patterns and standards. Prepare deployment and post-deployment plans to support conversion and deployment of solutions. Interact with architects, technical project managers, and developers to ensure that solutions meet requirements. Improve coding quality and reliability by implementing good standards and processes. Increase productivity by implementing tools and processes. Build ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes to allow data to flow seamlessly from source to target. Load and enhance dimensional data models. Leverage code to apply business rules to ensure data is clean and is interpreted correctly by stakeholders. Perform peer code reviews and QA. Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in management information systems, computers, or engineering plus three years of experience as a big data engineer/developer or a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in management information systems, computers, or engineering plus five years of experience as a big data engineer/developer. Must have experience with: PySpark; Apache Spark; Python; Hadoop; SQL; Microsoft Azure; Hive; JSON; Shell Scripting.
