As a Software Engineer at PropertyGuru, you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our software applications. As a Guru you will be accountable for:
- Develop software applications that meet requirement specifications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Perform thorough code reviews and unit testing to maintain code quality and adherence to best development practices.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and squads, including developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of existing core services and integration of new services.
- Direct AI coding agents to build features: owning the specification and staying accountable for the quality of what ships.
We're looking for someone who:
- Proven experience in software development with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks. Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
- Commitment to maintaining high code quality through thorough code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to best development practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Our tech stack centers around the JavaScript ecosystem and .NET, using Node.js and NestJS or .NET for the backend, React with JavaScript/TypeScript for the frontend, and Next.js for full-stack applications. We also work with MSSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jest, Playwright, and Redis.

Skills Required
- Proven experience in software development with a portfolio of delivered projects.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software development principles.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem (Node.js, React, Next.js).
- Experience with .NET or Node.js/NestJS backend frameworks.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with testing frameworks and E2E testing (Jest, Playwright).
- Familiarity with Redis and caching strategies.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
- Ability to perform code reviews, write unit tests, and follow best practices.
- Ability to direct and specify work for AI coding agents (e.g., Copilot) and remain accountable for shipped quality.
