Summary
About Guidewire & The Jutro MissionJoin Guidewire’s Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization to build the Jutro Digital Platform- the shared UI foundation that powers modern, cloud-based experiences for P&C insurers worldwide. At Guidewire, we’re changing the face of insurance by developing and delivering technology that powers the future of the property & casualty industry. We’re a global team of 3,500+ working at scale and speed on a billion-dollar cloud platform that gives insurers the tools they need to take care of their customers.
By joining the Jutro team in Kraków, you aren’t just building features- you’re crafting the digital foundation for the entire industry. Our primary clients are fellow frontend developers. You'll be supporting 70+ internal Guidewire applications, along with a rapidly growing list of external insurers who rely on our Jutro libraries to power their user experiences, enabling thousands of developers worldwide to build scalable, beautiful, and accessible web experiences.
Jutro is the modern digital layer for Guidewire Cloud. We provide the SDKs, design system, and sophisticated tooling that allow our customers to differentiate their brands. Our work is the bridge between complex insurance logic and human-centric design, powering a billion-dollar cloud platform that serves insurers and their customers at their most critical moments.
Job Description
The Role: Building the Engine for Insurance UIAs a Software Engineer II (P2) on the Jutro front-end team, you are at the heart of our mission. You will work at the exciting intersection of UI craft and AI-assisted engineering, evolving from a contributor to a true feature champion. This role is designed for high-impact growth, supported by structured mentorship from senior experts and a culture that celebrates engineering excellence and innovation.
You’ll be supported through structured mentoring from senior engineers (pairing, code and design reviews, regular feedback) and are expected, over time, to act as a feature champion for selected areas, owning them end-to-end at the story and small-feature level.
What You’ll Achieve
Build the Platform
Master the React 18+ / TypeScript stack to implement mission-critical features, ensuring our Design System and SDKs are robust, responsive, and accessible (A11Y).
Engineer secure and seamless user journeys by implementing OIDC flows and auth-guarded routes that protect Guidewire’s global customers.
Advance the state of the art by building rich AI chat components, data-heavy tables, and performance-tuned dashboards.
Take full ownership of your work from refinement to production, utilizing Datadog for observability and GitHub Actions/TeamCity to ensure high-velocity, high-quality deployments.
Proactively manage platform hygiene—from dependency updates via yarn/npm to security triage—ensuring Jutro remains the gold standard for stability.
Collaborate across disciplines, translating Figma designs into technical reality and supporting internal teams in their journey on Guidewire Cloud.
Leverage AI as a force-multiplier to automate repetitive engineering workflows, build smarter internal agents, and summarize complex cross-repo contexts.
Design AI-powered automations that monitor CI health, summarize security findings, and help our team stay ahead of potential regressions.
What We’re Looking For
~2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial front-end work.
Solid foundations in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and strong experience with React or a similar framework (React preferred).
Ability to independently deliver sprint-level stories: break down work, estimate, implement, test, and own it in production.
Experience working with design systems or component libraries and comfort consuming designs from Figma together with UX.
Some hands-on experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, TeamCity or similar) and automated tests (unit/E2E).
Basic understanding of web security/auth, dependency management, and observability.
AI literacy at practitioner level: Motivated to help us push further on AI-driven automation of internal workflows, not just code generation.
Good communication skills in English: you can explain technical decisions clearly and ask for help early when blocked.
Experience with TypeScript-heavy codebases (types-first design, shared types for APIs).
Exposure to micro-frontends or complex multi-app ecosystems.
Experience integrating with backend APIs (REST/JSON) and understanding of caching, retries, and error handling on the client side.
Hands-on work with modern React ecosystem (Next.js, React 19, Vite, or similar tooling).
Hybrid: expected in-office presence 8-10 days per month in Kraków (typically last week Mon-Thu + Tue/Wed on other weeks).
Strong focus on engineering craft (code quality, tests, design docs) and collaborative problem-solving.
We treat AI as a power tool and automation engine, not a replacement: you’ll be encouraged to experiment and help us automate more of our workflows, but you remain the owner of your work.
