What you will be doing
We are looking for driven, talented Software Engineers to help us build our SaaS-based anti-money laundering solutions, which help organizations fight financial crime.
We are building cutting-edge solutions that help prevent money flowing to and from bad actors to create a safer world. Your work will enable the platform that all our products are built on. We own these areas across the ComplyAdvantage “Mesh” platform:
- API Gateway and Authentication
- User and Access Management
- Roles and Permissions framework
- Public API docs tooling and best practices
As a Software Engineer, you will:
- Work alongside other software engineers within the platform tribe
- Help us deliver new features and maintain our platform as we apply new technologies and scale our systems
- Learn quickly and adopt the technologies we use to develop and deploy code to Kubernetes
- Contribute to sprint planning and demo the features you’ve worked on to stakeholders
- Be responsible for the quality of your code, write tests, and take ownership of systems that ensure code quality
- Adopt best practices (and suggest improvements to them), to get code from initial requirements to deployed services in production
Our Tech Stack
- Our technology stack is designed to run on public cloud architectures, notably AWS and GCP
- Development is organised around Kotlin and Python for our backend languages and TypeScript/ES6+React for our frontend stack
- We make substantial use of relational database technologies, notably Postgres and Yugabyte
- We also use an event-sourced model powered by Kafka for our communication bus and gRPC for our intra-service communication protocol
- We use modern observability solutions from Grafana Cloud and deploy our code using ArgoCD

About you
As a Software Engineer, you have:
- Experience in Java/Kotlin , writing production-grade applications
- At least 2 years of formal experience,or a passion for software with many years of experience that predates your formal career
- Experience writing tests and understanding of their importance
- Experience working in an agile environment and pair programming
- Experience working on the cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and/or using containerized infrastructure (Kubernetes/Docker); the infrastructure itself will be provided by an SRE team
Nice to haves:
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team (ML Engineers, SREs, Product)
- Worked in an agile environment and have experience in pair programming
Education:
- BSc/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline OR relevant years of experience with the required skills.
