Our Product Engineering team - Optum Product Engineering Nexus (OPEN) are looking for a Software Engineerwho shall help maintain and enhance existing Web based Analytics dashboard products. The Teams have a mix of commercial products at ideate, manage and build stages.
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a mature Product Engineering team working on a brownfield Business Intelligence (BI) product built on large-scale historical datasets. This role will have a primary focus on maintaining and enhancing a set of externally consumable REST APIs. It has a solid emphasis on solid Software Engineering practices and operational excellence with solid Java experience and a passion for Cloud technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain and secure public consumable REST APIs
- Triage and contribute to operational evaluations on production systems
- Implement and enhance automated controls on external APIs
- Implement features to facilitate self-serve client token life cycle management
- Work within a value stream team to deliver enhancements to existing products
- Integrate observability in the operations processes for managing API
- Support incident response, triage and root cause analysis for production issues
- Partner closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Automation Engineers within a multidisciplinary valuestream team
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, design discussions, and technical reviews with the wider team

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Spring Boot in building REST APIs
- Proven experience with securing REST end-points
- Proven experience with Spring Security
- Proven operational experience of deploying, monitoring and maintaining systems in production including CI/CD pipelines with tooling such as GitHub Actions
- Demonstrated knowledge of observability practices
- Proven experience of partnering on the delivery of Software with ability to communicate and collaborate within team and with wider stakeholders
- Proven experience with one or more public cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS & GCP preference for Azure
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and passionate about new technologies including leveraging AI for build execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Demonstrated knowledge of Heath care datasets
- Proven experience with building publicly consumable REST APIs
