Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our client in Malaysia and work on enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java-based backend development, cloud-native architecture, and microservices, with the ability to support deployments and cloud migration initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Java / J2EE applications
Build and enhance microservices-based architectures using Spring ecosystem
Actively contribute to cloud migration initiatives from on-premise to AWS
Support application deployment, release management, and troubleshooting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Cloud, and QA
Ensure high performance, security, and availability of applications
Participate in code reviews and follow best engineering practices
6–8 years of hands-on experience in software development
Strong proficiency in:
Java, J2EE
Spring / Spring Boot
Microservices architecture
Solid experience working with AWS cloud services
Experience in application deployment and environment management
Exposure to migrating on-premise applications to cloud environments
Experience with Kubernetes
Hands-on exposure to PostgreSQL
Familiarity with containerization and cloud-native design patterns
This is a contract position under New Era Technology
Candidate must be ready to work onsite at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur
Open to candidates who are currently in Malaysia or willing to relocate
