Job Summary
The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a team focused on supporting the maintenance and development of components within the Ansible Automation Platform ecosystem. You will contribute to enhancing our automation mesh functionality and improving integration with our customers' infrastructure environments’ automation workloads through development on our Terraform Provider integration, helping to deliver impactful new features and enhancements to our customer base.
The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a team to develop and maintain components within the Ansible Automation Platform ecosystem. You will deliver enhancements to our automation mesh offering and improve integration with our customers' infrastructure environments’ automation workloads through development on our Hashicorp Platform integrations, helping to deliver impactful new features and enhancements to our customer base.
What you will do:
Develop, implement, and maintain production-grade software deployed at scale.
Drive and maintain Red Hat Automation Platform in sustaining its de-facto industry standard automation platform reference.
Develop, implement, and maintain production-grade software deployed at scale.
Troubleshoot and resolve routine and semi-routine problems in the network and infrastructure space.
Collaborate with other engineers and architects to create and review software design proposals.
What you bring:
2+ Years software development experience.
Passion for automation and an excitement to automate all the things
Solid understanding of Linux, system administration, shell scripting, and source control system fundamentals.
Proven professional experience with a modern programming language, such as Python or Go
Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining software as part of a platform ecosystem
Working knowledge of Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Cloud providers, and REST API principles.
Solid understanding of infrastructure systems and networks
Customer empathy with a clear understanding of how automation of repetitive tasks provides business value
Demonstrated adoption of AI methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency, elevate code quality, guide problem solving and spark innovation
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience With The Following Is Considered a Plus
Experience with Hashicorp Terraform and Hashicorp Vault, including the use of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Vault for secrets management
Familiarity with Terraform provider development
Experience integrating with third-party providers, leveraging APIs and implementation of abstraction layers
Experience with public Cloud providers
Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including administration and management
Familiarity with Ansible and its ecosystem catalog
Experience with open-source project contributions
Previous experience with Agile Software Development from story discovery through to implementation, testing, and deployment.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
