We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our diverse and dynamic Language Services Team. As a Software Engineer at ICON, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing software solutions that enhance our clinical operations and research processes. You will contribute to the success of innovative technologies by writing clean, maintainable code and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop software solutions that optimize translation and localization project workflows
- Maintain and develop our existing in-house BMS system to deliver further innovation and efficiency for both our operational and support teams
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, team leads and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that satisfy requirements from across the organization
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and implement best practices
- Propose forward-thinking ideas and challenge the status quo
- Review code with a keen eye for design and quality
- Create delightful UI experiences for our users
- Integrate with 3rd-party localization solutions
- Continuously grow your technical skills and contribute to a culture of innovation amongst the development team
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years in software development within collaborative environments. Experience working in a localization environment is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong PHP expertise and clean coding practices
- Proficiency in TypeScript and/or JavaScript
- Experience with modern UI frameworks (VueJS, React, or similar)
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design principles
- Passionate about type safety
- Familiarity with automated testing for quality assurance
- Comfortable with TDD, or excited to learn
- SQL knowledge and database design fundamentals
