Kaleris is a private equity-backed software firm focused on supply chain optimization, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. We are a global leader in the supply chain execution market, focused on accelerating the transformation of digital supply chain for industrial and finished goods shippers and carriers by combining best-in-class solutions for challenges tied to yard management, shipment visibility, and asset management, across rail, truck, and multi-mode transportation. 

 

Kaleris is seeking a Software Engineer join our talented team in building the next generation of our products at Kaleris. In this position you will have an opportunity to make major contributions to our next generation transportation and logistics software products and application features. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues to outline project requisites and build state-of-the-art software and applications. Demonstrating a rapid learning ability and possessing strong communication skills is essential. 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Analyze, design, develop, and unit test quality custom solutions. 

  • Take ownership of solution design and development. 

  • Write technical documents that explain the detailed solution with supporting use cases and test cases.   

  • Participate in the full life-cycle development process from definition and design to solution delivery 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field—or equivalent experience. 

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience 

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with object-oriented methodologies, enterprise application architectures, and design patterns.   

  • Expert Knowledge of application development using Java. 

  • Experience in creating RESTful applications using Spring Boot deployed on a public cloud environment like AWS and/or Azure. 

  • Highly experienced with software development processes, and in particular, software design and unit/integration testing using JUnit. 

  • Good understanding of application software, secure coding, scalability, performance, and reliability aspects 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment. Experience with agile development approaches is a plus 

  • A highly motivated individual, who is ready to accept challenges, continually innovate and learn, and help others 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.   

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Fluent in written and spoken English 

  • Experience with relational database management systems and No SQL like Cassandra. 

  • Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka and JMS. 

  • Passion for customer success and satisfaction.  

  • Self-starter attitude with a high degree of ownership and drive.  

  • Enjoys building relationships and establishing trust with colleagues and clients.  

  • Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and environments. 

 

Optional Qualifications 

  • Experience with open-source frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration is a plus.  

  • N4 product domain knowledge 

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role
