As a Software Engineer on the Workforce Engagement Management (WEM) Decision Science Team, you will be responsible for the design and development of algorithms, features and functionalities that support the mission critical, cutting-edge optimization and decision-making products. You will work in a fast-paced startup environment where continuous change, innovation, and experimentation are a given.

WEM innovates in domains like forecasting, scheduling, workforce resource and engagement management, performance analytics, machine learning, data science, and reporting. We are currently looking for Software Engineers who have strong mathematical background and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support the research, design and development of large scale, complex mathematical models and solutions using advanced analytical, quantitative, statistical or machine learning approaches.

• Participate in code review, learn coding standards, and provide peer feedback.

• Assist in development of features beginning-to-end: from design documents and reviews to acceptance testing and deployment.

• Develop and maintain AWS microservices written in Java and other JVM languages.

• Continuously improve systems deployed in production.

• Troubleshoot production issues and come up with solutions as required.

• Participates in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to team discussions and decisions.

• Contributes to the creation and maintenance of documentation.

• Demonstrate keen awareness of current technology trends and emerging standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related fields.

• 2+ years of experience in Software Development role, ideally building scalable and highly available distributed systems or algorithms.

• Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or C++, with understanding of design patterns and their applications

• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• A problem-solving mindset and an enthusiasm for learning new skills.

• Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems

• Background in mathematical optimization ideally in computation and algorithm development is a plus.

• Knowledge and experience in machine learning, parallel computing, and solving challenging engineering or science problems is a plus.

• Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure is a plus.

• Experience working within an agile scrum framework

• Experience iterating within a CI/CD framework

• Fluent in English
