We need an experienced Mid-Level Software Engineer at NAVSEA’s Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate (SEA 09) in support of the Navy Modernization (NM) Program. SEA 09P is responsible for developing and maintaining the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), policies, and supporting information systems that govern the planning, engineering, and execution of modernization across the surface fleet. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains software supporting modernization process workflows and digital tools
- Implements Agile and DevSecOps practices for iterative software development and deployment
- Performs integration, validation, and functional testing to verify system performance
- Resolves software defects, conducts regression testing, and supports continuous improvement
- Collaborates with systems engineers, database administrators, and cybersecurity staff to ensure secure interoperability
- Prepares software documentation, release notes, and configuration records for submission
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience in software engineering, Agile, and DevOps/DevSecOps with specialized experience in DoD 5000 process
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 7+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above -OR-
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 10+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above -OR-
- High School diploma with 15+ years of experience related to the required skills/experience above
