The Genesys Digital & AI group plays a pivotal role in providing the innovations that enable global brands (over 7,500 organizations in 100+ countries) to orchestrate customer experiences across all communication and engagement channels. User experience is core to everything we do. As a software engineer in our customer-oriented group, you will design and build UIs and visualisations in an intuitive, relatable manner, helping Genesys customers solve their real-world, complex customer experience problems. You will work alongside accomplished engineers, researchers, designers, and product managers who will help take your impact to the next level. We are a highly collaborative group who take immense pride in our work and in learning from each other. What You Will Do:
• Design and develop robust, testable software to implement key insights and analytics features in a full-stack/stream-aligned team.
• Contribute to our team-maintained continuous deployment pipeline.
• Perform collaborative code reviews with other developers.
• Recommend new technologies as components of a solution when appropriate. • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and provide solutions.
• Ownership of features through the SDLC from beginning to end. Engaging in design documentation and reviews to acceptance testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with User Experience Design, Product Management and Backend Engineering colleagues to ensure the best possible customer experience for users of our products.
• You will work in small autonomous teams.
• You will receive mentorship as you get up to speed with our development environment and tech stacks.
• Learn about and implement emerging technologies.
What We're Looking For:
• 2+ years in software development experience.
• Ideally, a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related disciplines. However, this is not a hard requirement as we recognise there are many diverse paths into software careers.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Exposure to modern ECMAScript features (Promises, async/await, classes)
• Experience with TypeScript is a must.
• Strong experience with a modern web application framework, e.g. Angular, React, Vue.
• Experience utilising browser JS APIs (e.g. DOM, postMessage, localStorage)
• Experience with the Node ecosystem and JavaScript tooling (Vite, Webpack)
• Knowledge of cloud concepts and system architecture.
• Knowledge and experience with Git.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience delivering UX-driven designs.
• Implementation of accessibility standards and testing techniques.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated testing with Playwright, Jest, Selenium, etc.
• Building UIs with web components. Continuous integration/delivery practices. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • You have experience collaborating with external teams (product, UX, other dev teams).
• Demonstrated awareness of modern AI technologies and their implications (safety, privacy, reliability), with role-appropriate skills developed through internal training and applied practice
