Full-Stack Engineer
As a Full-Stack Engineer at Lob, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative, remote-first engineering team that powers millions of mailpieces every day. Your typical day will involve turning ideas into reality by writing clean, testable code across our entire stack, from our React-based user interfaces to our core Node.js and Go APIs. You will pair with senior engineers to tackle challenging projects, participate in code reviews to learn and improve, and debug issues to ensure our platform remains reliable and scalable. You won't just be writing code; you'll be using cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate your development process, from generating boilerplate code to understanding complex systems. You'll contribute to a product that operates at a massive scale, learning how to build and maintain resilient systems in a fast-paced environment.
As the Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll…
- Collaborate with your team to write, test, and deploy full-stack features for our core services and applications, using technologies like React, Node.js, Go, and Elixir.
- Help maintain and improve the health of our production systems by troubleshooting bugs, enhancing monitoring, and contributing to our operational excellence.
- Actively participate in our product development lifecycle, including technical design discussions, implementation, and code reviews, to continuously learn from your peers and grow your skills.
- Become a key contributor within our development cycles. At 6 months, in partnership with other engineers, you will have successfully shipped 2-3 significant, customer-facing features. You will be comfortable working across our full stack to complete assigned tasks and projects, from the frontend to our backend services, and have demonstrated proficiency in using our AI toolset to enhance your productivity and learning.
- Lead the development of at least one significant feature by 12 months, guiding the project from technical design to deployment with oversight from senior engineers. You will have a deep understanding of Lob’s architecture and be a trusted team member who not only delivers high-quality code but also proactively contributes to improving our product and engineering practices.
What will you bring to this role…
- Demonstrated experience building applications through internships, personal projects, coursework, or 0-2 years of professional software development.
- Solid foundation in at least one modern programming language (like JavaScript/Node.js, Go, Python) and familiarity with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, and a framework like React).
- Basic understanding of web development fundamentals, including APIs (e.g., REST), and the HTTP protocol.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Knowledge of fundamental database concepts (relational or key-value stores like Postgres or Redis).
- An Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to grow, ask questions, and absorb new concepts quickly in a complex technical environment.
- A Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a team setting and value giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- A Problem-Solving Mindset: You can break down problems into smaller, manageable parts and are persistent in finding solutions.
- Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, which are crucial for success in a fully remote organization.

Compensation information
Base: $117,500 - $161,250
“Lob’s salary ranges are based on market data, relative to our size, industry and stage of growth. Salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity, perks and competitive benefits. Salary decisions are based on many factors including geographic location, qualifications for the role, skillset, proficiency and experience level. Lob reasonably expects to pay candidates who are offered roles within the provided salary ranges.”
