WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Develop, communicate, and drive cloud cost initiatives across our organization.
- Create tools and dashboards that provide stakeholders in Product, Engineering, and Finance with visibility and actionable insights into their cloud spend.
- Identify and analyze the key drivers of cloud costs and report findings to budget owners.
- Build and maintain models for cloud cost forecasting, spend anomaly detection, and cost attribution.
- Manage our employment of AWS Savings Plans or GCP Committed-Use Discounts.
WHO YOU ARE
- Extensive experience navigating the cost and billing systems of AWS or GCP. Must have a proven track record of diving into CURs or GCP Billing Reports to drive resource optimization and financial accountability.
- Must be knowledgeable in the area of FinOps and able to put its principles into practice.
- Must be able to write code with a proven ability to develop internal tools and automation to manage cloud resources programmatically. While Python is our primary language, we value a strong command of any modern language used for cloud automation and API integration.
- Must be proficient in SQL and able to dig deeply into cost/usage reports, as well as other cost-relevant activity logs.
- Experience with Terraform and cloud-based Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) is desirable.
- Familiarity with cost aspects of Databricks and Snowflake is desirable.
