Job Description:
Develop and maintain software solutions for genetic and bioinformatic analysis. Develop bioinformatics algorithms, statistical analysis, and tools for a database of genomic variations. Perform C++ programming and build efficient graphical user interfaces (GUIs) using the Qt framework. Implement algorithms and workflows to process next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and to analyse genetic variants. Manage and store large scale genetic data using PostgreSQL and database normalization principles. Perform computational, bioinformatic, and statistical analysis and modelling. Utilize variant databases to handle various genetic data types. Leverage knowledge of NGS/Genetics to work in an interdisciplinary team of geneticists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Biology, Bioscience, or related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in job offered, Bioinformatics Technician, Bioinformatics Programmer, or in a related occupation.
