Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Python Developer with a relevant experience more than 3-4 years to join our Software Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development skills, a solid understanding of distributed systems, and experience in building scalable and high-performance applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain components within the Qualys Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Implement automation, optimization, and monitoring for services in production.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and development issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes.
- Work in an Agile environment and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3–4 years of professional experience in software development using Python.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, REST APIs, and microservice architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Web Scraping (Beautifulsoup/Playwright)
- Experience with Flask, FastAPI, or Django frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic shell scripting.
- Understanding of version control systems (Git/GitHub).
- Experience in unit testing, code coverage, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in data processing, ETL pipelines, or message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Knowledge of security domain concepts (vulnerability management, compliance, threat detection) is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
