Dematic is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing customer service team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide remote, second-level customer support along with working on bug fixes and customer requested enhancements or changes. The incumbent will work closely with customers, first-level technicians in the Customer Support area, and software project and technical engineers to resolve customer issues. The incumbent may participate in emergency situations requiring on-site support. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of multiple programming languages, operating systems, databases, and networking.What we offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What We Are Looking For:
- Assisting project and technical engineers in integration of new systems.
- Assisting technical and development personnel in application quality testing.
- Working on site to install, commission, and test installation of material handling solutions.
- Providing specified technical support to customers on-site, when assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Material Handling background is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to troubleshoot server hardware, Ethernet networks, and other peripherals such as printers.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours.
- Flexible with working hours and working days.
- Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specifications documentation.
- Ability to implement project customizations and configurations per design.
- Conduct quality testing and integration of updated systems.
- Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution.
- You will conduct training for customers and key users.
- Continually work to identify improvements.
- Understanding of software design principles and best practices
- Practical experience with C and SQL programming
- Practical programming experience in Java and related tools
- Experience in Oracle and MS SQL databases
- Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments
- Proficiency in other programming languages a plus
- General knowledge of database design and programming experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Linux operating systems
- General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
- Experience with version control systems (GIT and/or Mercurial)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or applicable Engineering discipline
- 2+ yrs of software engineering experience
- Industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus
