We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our GenAI team. You'll work with Commonwealth Bank’s global engineering community to implement AI-assisted tools, enhancing the engineering experience and productivity within the business banking domain.
Role responsibilities:
Develop and test high-quality software solutions for business banking applications.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices in technology (e.g., style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to and update existing documentation or educational content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Diagnose, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analysing their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Conduct self-driven research on emerging AI-assisted tools and capabilities.
We are interested in hearing from people who have:
Hands-on experience in building, deploying, and maintaining robust software solutions.
Familiarity with AI/ML and GenAI tools and frameworks, understanding their potential to streamline development processes.
Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript or C#)
Experience with one or more of the following or related GenAI technologies: ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, LiteLLM, Cursor, windsurf / Codeium, VO Vercel, Continue, Aider, Cline.
Preferably with building RAGs using LangChain, or similar frameworks.
Preferably have experience building Agentic AI systems using AutoGen, CrewAI, Pydantic, or similar frameworks
Daily usage and keen interest in AI tools like Cursor, GitHub CoPilot, Continue, Aider, and Cline.
Proficiency with API development and microservices architecture.
Strong collaborative development practices and experience with agile methodologies.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Experience with containerization tools.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, including GitHub Actions and other infrastructure-as-code platforms.
Familiarity with Agile work management tools like Jira and Confluence
