The Purpose:
At PPRO, Software Engineers create and maintain services and applications that enable PPRO’s payment products. Together with your cross-functional team you will design, implement, deploy cloud-based applications using modern development stacks and lean practices.
Think of yourself as an important contributor to the success of your team, your business domain and PPRO itself with a significant impact on our technical strategies, our system landscape, but also on it culture and spirit.
As part of a cross-functional team you will solve complex technical problems and support architectural decisions. We are currently expanding our Card Payments team.
What you’ll do:
- Address complex architectural problems with simple, intuitive design.
- Deliver on business functionality while also operating our cloud infrastructure.
- Work at all phases of the software development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, deployment and support)
- Collaborate effectively with teammates and communicate technical ideas and direction across the organization.
- Make frequent code contributions and review your colleagues’ code promptly.
- Provide feedback, guidance, and advocate performant and maintainable code.
- Recognize and propose solutions for scaling weaknesses, performance bottlenecks and security risks.
- Build out and maintain software and configurations to support continuous integration, deployment, monitoring and automation of common tasks that are part of the software delivery pipeline.
- You help establish company wide technical standards and share best practices.
- Own products and services end-to-end, from requirements till deployment in our production systems.
What we look for in you:
- Results-orientation, collaborative, pragmatic, and with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience designing and building scalable products and services, taking strategic decisions and having a wide impact.
- Strong expertise with the cloud (preferably AWS, but Azure or GCP will also do).
- Great problem solving abilities.
- Working proficiency in English.
Some of the technologies you’ll get to work with:
- Java and/or Kotlin (latest versions).
- Modern frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut).
- Cloud-native systems (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Event-driven architectures (Kinesis).
