Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Software Engineer, to join the Masterflex organization*.  This role is full-time, on site in Barrington IL.

The successful candidate will:

•          Design, maintain, and optimize End-of-Line (EOL) testing software for embedded Linux devices (50%)

•          Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including electronics, firmware, and production—to ensure EOL tester software meets performance requirements

•          Develop software components (e.g., GUIs, communication protocols) for embedded Linux platforms

•          Develop and integrate AWS-based IoT solutions for connected devices and data analysis

•          Design, code, test, debug, and document software in alignment with agile development best practices

What we are looking for:

  Minimum Education Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field)

Experience

Required:

• Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, and C/C++
• Familiarity with Linux environments

Preferred:

• Familiarity with testing methods and frameworks
• Basic understanding of embedded systems
• Willingness to learn new technologies (e.g., AWS, data acquisition tools)

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$77,300.00 - $128,700.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
