Software Engineer

The Software Engineer plays a key role in modernizing our online and backend platforms using .NET technologies. This role involves full-stack development, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering production-ready solutions with minimal user adoption friction. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with deep expertise in .NET and database technologies and a strong understanding of software architecture and best practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serve as a software engineer for software development projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Develop functional specifications, technical architectures, and full-stack implementations for new and existing applications.
• Modernize legacy applications and enhance existing systems, ensuring seamless integration with new technologies.
• Participate in code reviews and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remediate complex software defects and performance issues.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and end-users, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Implement software design patterns, architectural best practices, and security considerations.
• Assist with solution estimation, standardization, and process improvement initiatives.
• Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET technologies, including .NET Core and ASP.NET (MVC, WebForms, Razor).
• Strong experience with relational databases, including MS SQL Server or equivalent.
• Experience developing and maintaining APIs and web applications.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Blazor, and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience working with cloud services and containerized environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with legacy systems and undocumented code.
• Proficiency with DevOps toolchains, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control best practices.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with Azure Cloud Services
• Experience with Git Repositories
• Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, Angular, etc.).
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in an office/ cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
