About our team:

As a member of our Pixel Pathology engineering team you will help bring cutting-edge computer vision models to the digital pathology market. We work hand-in-hand with our imaging data science team, operations, and pathologists to productionalize new models, operationalize workflows to assess model outputs, and enable results to be reported back to physicians and patients to aid in their care journeys.
Responsibilities
As a member of our Pixel Pathology engineering team you will:
- Design, implement, and test systems to orchestrate ingestion and processing of whole slide images
- Collaborate with data scientists to deploy digital pathology models into hardened production pipelines with patient impact
- Participate in team code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, incorporating them as appropriate

- Regular 1:1’s with Manager for support and feedback

- Bi-annual Innovation weeks to explore self-directed projects
- Bi-weekly Engineers Unite meetings providing an opportunity to learn more about how other teams work or present new things you have built
Why we’re looking for you:
- You are eager to learn.
- You enjoy collaborating and communicating with team members of varying skill sets and from different fields.
- You've worked in agile environments and are comfortable iterating quickly.
- You've got software development experience in both frontend and backend technologies.
- You’re proficient in TypeScript and/or Python.
- You're familiar with some of the frameworks we use, such as: Node.js, React.js, Postgres, REST.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in Docker
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP
- Experience with Kubernetes, BigQuery, GCP Batch and Cloud Storage
- Experience with CI/CD
- An interest in working in biotech, genomics, precision medicine, and computer vision
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.
Illinois Pay Range
$85,000—$130,000 USD
