The Opportunity:
As a Software Engineer, you will play a significant role in turning our product vision into reality, while working within the Product Engineering team to add value across our product. You’ll draw on your experience to help us establish contemporary, web application software that is highly scalable, durable, and based on current best practices.

Our base toolset currently consists of Java 11 and ReactJS running Dockerised services on AWS.
We are looking for full stack capable engineers specialised in back end.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating change in a complex system. Working within one of our Product streams, making well-considered decisions around patterns, principals, frameworks, languages and tools, thinking through and mitigating for potential cascading impacts of those changes.
- Designing and developing well-architected systems. Understand and contribute to our product source code and cloud infrastructure.
- Learning good practice. Learn from people who know their stuff and have best practice built into their DNA.
- Exploring career paths. Be supported to learn a variety of tools and frameworks, to understand where you want to go in your career ahead.
- Putting Customers First. A regular rotation on support for the systems we develop.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated experience as a software engineer, with around 3-5 years experience in technology roles
- Experience in Javascript or Java or both, and a variety of other technologies that you’ve found useful and can talk about.
- Some knowledge of AWS services, design patterns and practices
- Desire to challenge the status quo and offer ideas on how we can improve
- Comfortable asking lots of questions and re-working solutions based on feedback. You’re not afraid to fail on a task if it means you’ve learned something.
- Respect for other team members and a highly collaborative approach to working and learning together
