Are you passionate about building impactful technology that connects people? Join our team as a Software Engineer and contribute to developing innovative Ancestry DNA products. You'll work in a collaborative, agile environment where you can learn, solve technical challenges, and make a difference.

What You'll Do:

• Solve Complex Challenges: Address advanced technical problems that push the boundaries of our product's potential.

• Build and Develop: Contribute to the development of web applications using modern technologies.

• Collaborate and Learn: Work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to define and refine technical requirements.

• Participate in Code Reviews: Learn best practices by reviewing code and receiving constructive feedback from senior team members.

• Experiment and Innovate: Assist in prototyping and testing new ideas to improve our platform.

• Contribute to Architecture: Engage in high-level technical and architectural discussions, designing solutions that balance scalability, security, and efficiency.

• Grow Your Skills: Engage in discussions about technical solutions, scalability, and security while developing your understanding of software architecture.

What We're Looking For:

• Basic Full-Stack Knowledge: Familiarity with JavaScript (ES6) / Typescript, HTML, CSS, Java and frameworks like Node.js or React. 

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to approach technical challenges with curiosity and a willingness to learn.

• Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Enthusiastic Learner: Excited to explore new technologies and methods.

• Adaptable and Organized: Familiarity with Agile (SCRUM) workflows is a plus but not required.

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent coursework or projects.

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $89,280 - $119,070 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
