As a C++ Developer at Proofpoint, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions that meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C++, with a focus on modern standards (C++11 or newer), a solid understanding of networking concepts, and experience working in a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain C++ applications using modern C++ standards (C++11 or newer).

Implement and optimize networking protocols and features within software applications.

Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other team members to develop high-quality software solutions.

Debug, test, and profile applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.

Work in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles.

Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and experience with socket programming.

Proficiency in Linux, with experience developing and deploying applications in a Linux environment.

Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other programming languages such as Python, Java, or C.

Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).

Experience with real-time systems or high-performance computing.
