About the Team:You’ll be working on the Core Services team. The Core Services team is dedicated to supporting the systems that SmartAsset depends on to support Advisors, validate and deploy leads, and provide custom integrations for our enterprise clients. As part of the Core Services team, you’ll work closely with teams both upstream and downstream to protect the integrity of Advisor and investor data for all its uses. You’ll get the opportunity to work with many other talented individuals and feel that you’re making an impact in the work that you’re doing.
About the Job:Responsibilities:
- This position presents a high-growth opportunity to be part of a dynamic engineering team that owns the technical and architectural domains of our core products and services.
- You will be part of an AGILE SCRUM team responsible for running and scaling our critical lead management services.
- You will be collaborating closely with everyone around you including our product team and other stakeholders to complete sprint and triage objectives.
- You will actively participate and support making key technical decisions, documenting technical and improving processes as we revamp and reshape the services we provide.
- You will play a strong role in identifying tech debt, documenting it, and lobbying for its payback.
- You present excellent communication skills that enhance collaboration in an asynchronous and fully remote environment
Skills / Experience You Have:
- 3+ years engineering experience: Creating, maintaining, and scaling highly available systems and services.
- Languages: Proven track record in building, shipping, scaling, and operating Java (or similar) applications, with deep expertise in ReactJS.
- Databases: Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with relational databases.
- Source Control: Solid knowledge of Git or similar source control tools.
- Cloud Solutions: Experience designing and implementing complex cloud solutions (preferably AWS), with the ability to plan and execute effectively.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Passionate about growing yourself, unafraid to ask for help, coaching and mentoring from others while volunteering to do the same for others.
- Risk Management: Skilled at identifying risks, creating mitigations, and influencing solutions effectively.
- Startup Mindset: Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments with a cross-functional approach and a deep passion for technology, driving continuous improvement in your team, tools, and processes.
- Knowledge of least privilege principle, application structure and OOP patterns.
- Experience working in or developing in a CI/CD environment
- Familiarity using IAC tools such as (Terraform, Cloudformation)
- Knowledge operating incidents, releases, problem, and change management processes
