What You'll Do
Our ideal Sr. Software Engineer/Developer (with experience in PHP, Perl, Python or Ruby) will be an integral contributor to the current and next generation of our APP. You'll be working on multiple projects to continue making us the #1 HR Software for SMB business. You will:
- Write code for backend processes, RESTful public web API's, and, of course, our industry leading website.
- Research technologies and engineer complete solutions to problems.
- Propose and implement performance optimizations and scaling strategies.
- Work with the rest of the team to integrate your projects into the application.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes.

What You Need to Get the Job Done (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years experience in web development
- Experience in PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS
- Object Oriented development
- MySQL - both SQL query language and database structure/design
- Version control software, preferably Mercurial or Git

- Additional C/C++ experience a plus

Skills Required
- 5+ years of web development experience
- Experience with PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Object-oriented development experience
- MySQL experience, including SQL query language and database structure and design

What We Do
Echo North is Lauren Shufran, PhD's fractional content strategy practice serving early-stage B2B SaaS and AI companies. It designs and produces original research reports using client platform data, commissioned surveys, interviews, or synthesized public information. Shufran scopes and writes the reports, which are delivered ready to publish. The practice also develops cornerstone content including white papers, reports, and campaigns, helping clients turn expertise into visibility, engagement, and conversion across channels.
